Chad Finchum Sidelined Early at Martinsville by Mechanical Fire
Martinville, Virginia (10/31/20) - Chad Finchum was more than excited to return to Martinsville Speedway after a seven year hiatus. On Saturday evening he donned his brand-new look on his American Dream No. 61 MBM Motorsports Toyota in the Draft Top 250.
"It's been seven years since I have been to Martinsville (Speedway) and the last time I was there we sat on the pole for the NWAAS race. I was really looking forward to this race and super glad that NASCAR decided to bring the Xfinity cars back there. However, our night just didn't go as planned," Finchum commented. "Right from the green flag we had major issues start arising and ended up having a fire under the hood that ended our outing early.
"This one hurts a little more than the rest because this was a special race for me, but we have one more race this season to finish strong. Thank you so much to American Dream for coming aboard my awesome looking No. 61 tonight. Onto Phoenix!"
After starting 32nd on the grid, a mechanical fire on lap 120 ended Finchum's day in the 37th position.
