Late-Race Part's Failure Slows Chad Finchum Late at Homestead-Miami

Homestead, Florida (11/17/18) - Chad Finchum brought his 2018 NASCAR Xfinity Series rookie campaign to a close on Saturday afternoon at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Finchum took the Triton Trailer Sales/ Amana Brand Heating & Air Conditioning #66 Smithbilt Homes/ MBM Motorsports/ No. 66 Toyota Camry into battle in the Ford Ecoboost 300.

After being 20th fastest in the final practice Chad registered the 25th-fastest time in qualifications.

"We had hoped to make it to the second round of qualifying for the third week in a row. We actually were in position to go to the second round, but a competitor made some changes and bumped us last minute, so we decided to just focus on the race instead of going back out," Finchum commented.

Finchum showed considerable speed throughout the race and was on his way to a solid run before a part's failure late in the race relegated him to a 31st-place finish.

"Man we had a great run going, and something just let go in the last five laps and we dropped several spots late in the race," Finchum continued. "It's disappointing, but it just happens sometimes. Overall, I'm so proud of our team and we were able to accomplish this year. I want to say a very special thanks to each-and-every person that has supported us this season."
