Mechanical Failure Halts Chad Finchum's Roll at ISM

Phoenix, Arizona (11/10/18) - With momentum in his corner Chad Finchum had high hopes heading into the Wheelen Drive for Success 200 on Saturday at ISM Raceway.

Finchum hit the ground running with a fast-qualifying effort behind the wheel of his Smithbilt Homes/ MBM Motorsports/No. 40 Toyota Camry. He zoomed to the 22nd-fastest time in qualifications.

"We started the day really fast with another great qualifying effort," Finchum said. "Unfortunately we realized early in the race that we were experiencing rear-end issues. We nursed it the best that we could, but it ultimately let go. It's a really disappointing way to end the day, but we'll hold our heads high and get ready for the finale at Homestead."

The rear-end on the No. 40 Toyota Camry expired on lap 143 of the 200-lap affair, and it sidelined him to a disappointing 37th-place finish.
