Chad Finchum Learns at Watkins Glen International

Watkins Glen, New York (08/05/18) - Chad Finchum spent much of the Zippo 200 on Saturday learning the ropes of Watkins Glen International. After having to overcome brake issues, the pilot of the MBM Motorsports #40 Smithbilt Homes Toyota Camry crossed the finish line in the 29th position.

"This place is so freakin' fun," Finchum said moments after climbing from his racecar after the race. "We had brake issues early and it cost us some laps behind the wall. We were able to bounce back from that. I spent most of the race learning how to run this track. For our first time here I was really pleased, and I can't wait to come back. This is a phenomenal place, and we learned a lot today."

After seeing rain plague the practices, the team had minimal notes for qualifying. Chad laid down the 35th-fastest time, which locked him into that spot on the starting grid.

During the early stages of the event Finchum had to endure brake issues, which ultimately forced the team to go behind the wall to bleed them. He rejoined the field and went on to register a 29th-place finish.
