August 18, 2017 - Finchum Advances to 28th-Place Finish in Food City 300
1MBM Motorsports with Chad Finchum behind the wheel of the team’s Smithbilt Homes #40 entry entered the Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway on Friday.

Chad qualified 31st fastest for the NASCAR Xfinity Series event. However, the team found a bad brake hose after qualifying and changed it. Due to making modifications on the Chevrolet Camero Finchum was forced to start at the tail of the field.

In the first segment of the event, Chad advanced to as high as the 24th position before he again began battling brake issues.

He would battle the issues for the remainder of the event before crossing the finish line in the 28th position.

"I'm so proud of my team for all of their efforts and hard work this weekend," Finchum said. "We brought a really good car to the event, but unfortunately we didn't get to see just how good it was because of the brake issues. Thanks to all of my friends and family for coming support me. I can't wait until the next event.

1MBM Motorsports announced today that Chad Finchum will return to the team’s #40 entry for the Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway.  Finchum, of Knoxville, TN, will be making his fourth start of the 2017 NASCAR Xfinity Series season for the organization owned by NASCAR veteran Carl Long.

Smithbilt Homes, based in Knoxville, TN will make its first appearance in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, serving as primary sponsor on the #40 Chevrolet.  Longtime Finchum partner, Buddy Gregg RVs and Motorhomes, also located in Knoxville, TN, will serve as an associate sponsor for the team’s entry.  Finchum Heating & Cooling will also continue its relationship with the 22-year-old driver as associate sponsor for the event.

Although making his first Xfinity start at the World’s Fastest Half Mile, Finchum is no stranger to BMS.  In April 2016, Finchum scored a victory in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series event, driving for NASCAR veteran drivers Eric McClure and Hal Martin. >>Read More
